My Approach
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an evidence-based method used to treat symptoms related to trauma, depression, and anxiety. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to reprocess memories associated with negative beliefs about oneself and the world.
Trauma-Informed
A trauma-informed approach allows clients to take therapy at a pace at which they feel most comfortable and safe. Clients learn to understand their adaptive behaviors within the context of their experiences, and practice new ways to cope that encourage connection, honesty, and acceptance.
Neurodiversity Affirming
Many neurodivergent adults and teens have been given messages about needing to “fix” themselves or their brains. An affirming approach to neurodiversity promotes accommodations over shame, and working with the unique setup of one’s brain.
